This was a big one. I started this drawing using Chamba's art as inspiration by getting into a lot of detail while retaining the cartoony anatomy. As well as subtley adding multiple layers of cel shading to create a smooth look. Using such thin lineart was something I was unfamiliar with and it was fun seeing how differently the other layers interacted with it.
I really wanted to get this right so before getting into any clean work, I roughly coloured and shaded the entire picture about three times as well as playing around with what would appear in the background and the direction of the light source. A lot of work, but it really helped.
